sculpture for a show
This was the last sculpture I worked on in 2008. I put this one in the employee art show at our holiday party, so it's more "finished" than most of my sculptures. I think I overworked parts of it more than necessary, which often happens when I try to "finish" a sculpture.

isak day 2
I missed the second session w/ isak so this is actually the third session, but day 2 for this sculpture. I tried to get as much coverage as I could to bring everything up to the same level. I really like the pose but tonight we picked a new one. (I didn't get any pics of the new sculpture).

isak day 1
Sadly, Judith's second pose never made it past the first day. Work and houseguests conspired to occupy the last two sculpting nights. We started a new model tonight, so I scrapped the 1/4 scale Judith to reuse the armature for Isak. I had a hard time with his right shoulder but the pose is interesting.

judith day 1
Hi everyone. This is my first time ever posting to a blog! I haven't figured out how to hook this up to flickr yet so for now I will just upload these photos and hope it works :P.
Tonight was the first night of a new session at the weekly sculpting workshop where I work. Every six weeks we have a new model, and we pick a new pose for the next 6 weeks (lately we've been changing the pose on week 4). We usually alternate between male and female models. Judith was actually the first female model I ever sculpted 5 years ago, so it's interesting to sculpt her again. On the first day, usually we spend about an hour making the armature and picking the pose, and then the remaining two hours sculpting. I think she is about 1/6 scale.
