judith day 4

New pose this week. This one I decided to do at 1/4 scale. I like the back view best. Also, her left hand is actually on her left knee but I need it out of the way right now for torso access. Needs a lot of work.

nice start! do you find it harder to work at 1/4 vs 1/6 scale?

yes, nice start! i like the back view as well, esp. the neckline. what is the contraption for? how easy is it to move the arm back into position? does it deform the arm when you move it?

thanks. cignoh: it's harder because mistakes in proportion are more obvious. It's easier because the details are not so teeny. sukogirl: The 1/6 scale is small enough that I can drill holes in the base and put the armature legs through the holes. The big ones can't stand up on their own and need the rods for support. The armature inside is actually flexible aluminum wire and relatively easy to bend. But yes, the clay breaks on the convex side of the bend and smooshes on the concave side. So I have to fix things when I bend them around.
