Orange flower washcloth

I decided to knit a lot of my x-mas presents this year. Here is a flower washcloth from Weekend Knitting. I think it would be neat to learn how to make soap. Has anyone done this before?

oh! i have that book and love the washcloths. i like your idea to make all your christmas gifts too, it's something i've thought about doing before, but never have. i made soap before but not from scratch. you buy soap base that comes in cubes, and then you microwave it, add in colors/scents/oatmeal, etc, and then pour into modls. you can also add tiny bits of other soaps in different colors or tiny shapes made from molds. here is a photo set:

it was a lot of fun, but i only did it once.

oh your soaps are so pretty! yes, it seems like a lot of fun to make and they would make nice gifts. i was given homemade soaps by a friend and i have enjoyed using them.

oh, i didn't make them all, we made them as a group. it was totally fun to do, i would recommend it. i can try to send you a sample list of materials if you like. most of the stuff you could get at a craft store like michael's.

also, amy noticed that we hit our 100th post on itb! congrats! yay for us!
