i like the different textures and patterns captured in this photo: the soft, thick doggy fur versus the knobbly tree bark, and also the woven collar, snow, and the other branches. as cignoh said, it is lovely the way she pops out against the tree background with the bright silhouette. did you crop this shot down from something larger?
aahhh! cute floppy ears! adorable. Was she looking at something or does she know how to pose for the camera? ditto the other comments on the nice lighting and textures.
thanks for all the comments. the rim lighting was luck, though i do try to get the sun behind her to get the heavenly shine, but i wasn't consciously thinking about that in this one. yes, i cropped this shot. i was going to include more of her b/c i was trying to focus on her through some trees, but then the lighting was not uniform throughout and ended up cutting off her romp. she is looking for something to chase, but really not looking at anything. i will post a shot of her floppy ears in action.
! it's like her ears are antigravity! I want to see the full-sized version but when I click on it nothing happens... cignoh: i have a whole backlog of kitten pics waiting to be posted :). but boy, they are getting BIG.

nice rim lighting on her screen left side to separate her from the tree behind her...
