insufficient time and energy for everything
i'm supposed to then tag 6 other ppl, but i don't know that many ppl who blog so i'll have to think about that part a little more and finish that part of the challenge later...

:) of your recent photos, i particularly like the shot of the man on the foosball table and the way everything is blurred around him. it would be neat if the blurred figures appeared to in motion (not sure if you could create a motion blur effect in photoshop) to make it more like an action shot. i also like the grass shot with the great contrast between sharply focused grass and the abstracted background. the portrait shot of the young woman is nicely shot as well. it seems very natural, not posed. were all of these photos taken with your new 50mm lens?

nice shots, cignoh!! you getting a hang of that 50mm. i like the foosball guy too, esp. that only part of his body is in focus. i also like the glow on tomy nohohon zoku. i saw a lot of those in japan.

that's a cool idea to try to make the figures look motion blurred. i didn't know if the depth of field was too shallow, if i was overdoing it?
yes, they were all taken w/ my new lens, which i'm liking a lot, but i think i should back off a little on the shallow dof until i get more used to the camera. many of my pics end up not correctly focused/focused on the wrong plane. it seems very sensitive.

oh thank you sukogirl, i think we were posting at the same time so i didn't see your comment till now... yeah, i love those bobble head thingies, i saw a lot in japan too. the little plant ones that they have are cute too. it was just lit from the top (kitchen light) but i figured since that is the way they work (light source from above) it was ok to light it that way for the pic...

great pics, cignoh! I don't think you're overdoing the narrow DOF though. I went nuts when I first got my f1.4 lens. The narrow DOF brings out subjects so nicely though, it's hard not to want to use it all the time :). I was borrowing a co-worker's film SLR for a while and it has a f1.2 lens that I totally overused. On top of that I also wasn't used to the focus indicator and a LOT of them came out embarrassingly out of focus :). So now I'm trying to back off of it a bit too.
