Pretty in Pink
I never imagined that I would find one the largest and most thorough botanical gardens in the world as far north as Montreal, Quebec. I spent 6 hrs at the Montreal Botanical Garden and wasn't able to cover it all. I took A LOT photos, but decided to dedicate this post to pink flowers. Why pink?

omigosh, your photos are amazing! not only do i like them because they are pink (i LOVE pink) but they are so beautifully shot. i like how all of them are varied in composition/scale. the first one is amazing, i like how they are lit against the background, with subtle rim lighting to separate them, and the bg is soft, the pink really pops against. i love the color of pink in the second, and the detail of the yellow. the third looks very graphic, with the darker/silhouetted forms and the pink against white. and in the fourth, i like the detail of the flowers and the shallow depth of field. very nice!
I got a sneak peak of these when you posted one of them earlier! I really like them as a collection. Thiis what I said earlier about the one with cocoons:
These are absolutely gorgeous! Are these plants you grow or wild plants that you've found at the perfect time? I really like the way you've captured them all facing the same way except for one subtling facing the camera and slightly open!
I really feel caught in the moment. I love it.
wow, those are GORGEOUS. and I don't even like pink very much ;)... What's behind the third one? just a blown out background or a white wall of some sort? really great range of styles and compositions.
Thanks, everyone! amy, i saw your comment on flickr but didn't make the connection and was surprised that someone had commented on it so quickly after I had uploaded it. Now it all makes sense. It's awesome that you were moved by them. The background of the 3rd one was just a greyish white wall, but I blown it out to white to highlight the pink flowers. As a tomboy child, I was never into pink, but as I have settled in to my more feminine side with age, I am finding that I appreciate the beauty of pink more and more.
