sukogirl, for mine, i used a cotton yarn, that's all i had lying around. i would think you would want something that is stiffer and firmer and holds more tightly together, but maybe it depends on what you're making/what you're going for?
Thanks guys! sukogirl, I used some leftover cascade 220 wool from the blue scarf. I have mostly wool in my stash so I didn't choose it specifically. I'll dig up the pdf and send it or post it. I can't seem to find it online anywhere anymore.
