i haven't been crafting as much as i wanted to, but am still taking a photo.a.day and spent much of the week doing some spring cleaning. i'm very much a pack rat, it's so hard for me to throw things away and/or stay organized and be able to find stuff when i need to, but i think i'm getting a little better (probably hard to tell from the photographs!). it actually looks much better now than what you see in the photo, and i hope to post an after picture soon. i think the process of taking photos of my stuff before i throw them out or put them away helps me.
also, here are some miscellaneous photos from the past week:
psychics |
thai new year |
rice cooker cartoon |
bus stop |
salton sea |
mint lemonade |
they include pics from a thai new year festival and a day trip to the salton sea (links to sets).

nice pics! i like the reflection shot esp. b/c the kids are b/w while u are in color. why is that? it's kinda spooky, but neat at the same time. you've captured some great expressions in the candid shots as well. the little rice cooker looks like one that we brought back from Tokyo. Is it IH technology? does it make ice cream too? I don't think ours does that. we have yet to use it b/c we need to get a transformer.
thanks! the kids are in b/w b/c they were part of the advertisement, not standing next to me in real life. i made another version:

where we look more similar, but i did like the fact that there is a difference in the version i posted but it isn't entirely obvious when you first look at it... a little spooky, like you were saying.
what is 'IH'? the small cooker in the image uses fuzzy logic, but i'm not sure if the bigger one does---but the bigger one is a slow cooker too, which is why i got it... neither of them make ice cream actually, but it'd be sweet if they did! not sure why j wrote that, he may have been confused because i also bought an ice cream maker recently...
great photos! I like the one of the psychics especially. I have a hard time getting the nerve to take photos of people I don't know. The photo class is turning me around to black/and white. I think that would work really well with the psychics.
lanac: good suggestion! i gave it a try, lemme know what you think: http://www.flickr.com/photos/cignoh/2455550841/
and definitely tell me if you see other photos that would work well in b/w. i try it sometimes, but don't always think about it...
i'm not sure if ppl like for me to take their picture, so i usually try to do it in more crowded situations when it isn't as obvious (not in this case though). a friend of mine asks permissions sometimes and has had success with that too.
